In 1997-98 (only four years after the 3rd of Tammuz) in the hight of the Messianic movement,  I went to Yeshiva in Morristown, New Jersey.

Morristown then was  known as a “anti” Yeshiva, yet at the time, 85% of the students there were Messianic and Yechi was said and printed at every opportunity given and most of the students displayed Yechi Kippas. (These were the days before the yellow flag, but I’m sure had there been flags back then there would be one hanging from every window, making the building look yellow).

MINEOLA, N.Y. — Shirley L. Huntley, a Democratic state senator from Queens, was accused by prosecutors on Monday of taking part in a scheme involving the misuse of money intended for a nonprofit group that was supposed to help guide parents through the New York City school system.

8/26/12: Does anybody have any details/confirmation regarding Zev Stern (Yossi Sterns son) getting arrested this past Friday (8/24) night outside 770 for assaulting an officer and resisting arrest? 

2008, Yossi Stern sends out an email to “community activist” outlining how they should go about taking down Shomrim once and for all.

Plus an email sent by Chanina Sperlin to the Mayors office which confirms a claim Shomrim made about Sperlins involvement in the Shomrim Six Mesira.

Democracy In My Shul

OPINION:

In my Shul we have total Democracy, if you don’t like the rules you are FREE to leave!

In my Shul one individual collects the funds, if you don’t like it or don’t trust him, since it’s a total Democracy you have the right to stop  giving him  money and you have the democratic right to leave the Shul.

With this Democracy our Shul keeps growing and things are peaceful and will g-d willing stay that way.

Op-Ed: The Need for a Rabbinical Court of Appeals

This week, hundreds of thousands of Jews worldwide will read the Torah portion, Shoftim, “Judges,” which begins with the above verses. The parsha directs the Jewish people to establish a just rabbinic court system consisting of righteous judges, experts in Jewish law, unsoiled with bribery and corruption.

For example, my friends, I know how you think of yourselves. You’re honest.  You’re ethically attentive.  I mean, nobody’s perfect, but you try to do your best.  You don’t purposely screw people.  You don’t lie on purpose for your own aggrandizement and gain.  And therefore it’s really hard to relate to people that do.  Because you wonder: Where is their conscience? When you’re not unethical and when you care about integrity and when honesty and these kinds of virtues matter to you, you are understandably (sometimes inexplicably) befuddled in dealing with people who don’t have any of those concerns.

Who aren’t honest.

Who aren’t ethical.

Who don’t have a conscience.

Who are not concerned with virtue.

So understanding those people, sometimes, is a waste of time.  Sometimes it doesn’t matter once you do figure it out….
