Councilman Accused Of Stealing City And State Money For Personal And Political Use, Enlisting Relative In The Theft Of Public Campaign Funds

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the indictment of New York City Council Member Ruben Wills for allegedly pocketing both public campaign funds and charitable grant money for personal benefit. Mr. Wills and a member of his family that he enlisted as a co-conspirator have been indicted by a Queens grand jury after an investigation exposed the theft of approximately $30,000 and a subsequent attempt by the Councilman to cover their tracks.

Summer 0f 1996, 12 [full] buses pulled out of Crown Heights heading towards Machne Menachem. That year the Machne Menachem which was located at,  445 Mast Hope Plank Road, Lackawaxen, PA, 18435 hosted 500 campers and 200 staff.

The streets of Crown Heights were literately desolate of Children.

Summer “vacation” is devastating to the ongoing education of our children

… and in a few weeks they will scatter all over the place like chickens without heads, because the doors to our  Yeshivas, Chadarim and Talmud Torahs will be closed during the summer for “vacation”.

Hundreds of teenage boys and girls will be doing (only) G-d knows what for three “free/fry” months.  These three months are the source of all פְּרִיקַת עוֹל. The result of this three month “vacation” is devastating to the ongoing education of our children.

Where are the school administrations during the summer months? If they truly care for our children’s education, then why are our schools and yeshivas closed for three whole months!?

Where is the outrage?  Where are the Mashpi’im and Rosh Yeshivas regarding this matter?
