Today, history is being made. shmira, a Crown Heights patrol known for it’s criminal activities and corruption throughout the city is being officially closed down. Police commissioner Raymond Kelly was on a mission to create one patrol for the Crown Heights Jewish Community. By creating a patrol run by the NYPD called C.O.P. he would divert the attention of the shmira group while allowing Shomrim to better serve the Jewish community. C.O.P. is a group of volunteers made up of all racial background that will serve the Crown Heights community at large. Similar to NYPD auxiliary there will be shifts in which members will be able to observe crime and call 911 for back up. Shomrim has and will continue to serve and protect the Crown Heights Jewish community.

Yeah, there’s anger everywhere. I’m surprised at it because the people that are angry are the people who are “winning”. Their people are” winning elections”, they’re winning on the “policy battles” and they’re still mad. They’re still angry. They’re perpetually angry! They’re perpetually enraged. And people have asked me why.
I don’t know. I can’t relate to being mad all the time. I don’t want to be mad all the time. I don’t want to wake up mad. I don’t want to go to bed mad. I don’t want to spend all day mad. There are a lot of people that do it, though, and I, frankly, I don’t understand it. It’s not something that I want to try to parse and analyze. All I know is that they’re not the people are going to get anything done. The constant complaining and whining and anger has got a root cause somewhere, and it all equals is unhappiness and dissatisfaction. And they end up striking out at people like Krinsky (Aguch-Merkoz), Shomrim, Hershkop, Shemtov, this Rov and that Rov etc… and blaming everybody else for the fact that they don’t feel very happy, when in fact they need to look inward.

Moshe Betesh's father robbed the shul
So Ill Betesh, father of shmira prodigy Moshe Betesh (whos shidduch just recently fell apart), took advantage of his position in the shul of 770 Leffets (shul president) and emptied out its bank accounts.
Apparently his illegal construction company hasn’t been doing to well, and sponsoring his children’s BMWs and Toyota hasn’t been doing to well for him. Department of building shut down a number of his job sites due to work without permits and he has been hurting. with no money his wife was thretaning to leave him since he could no longer support he fancy shmancy life style.
so Mr. Betesh did the thing her remember best how to day (from the days before he became frum) and that was how to swindle and rob people, so he emptied out the shuls colfers, said to be close to $100,000,00!
