The Ironic Reason NYPD Won’t Release Manual on Handling Freedom of Information Requests
March 20, 2014Source: TheBlaze.com
Why is the New York Police Department reportedly keeping secret its manual that instructs officials how to process freedom of information requests?
Because those materials aren’t covered under the state’s Freedom of Information Law, the department said.
Shawn Musgrave, a reporter for MuckRock, which specializes in freedom of information requests, requested the NYPD’s written guidelines on how freedom of information requests are handled in a letter last December.

March 19, 2014Jealousy: Cutting the Baby In Half
November 29, 2013The Haftorah of Parshas Miketz reveals to us the extent one can be driven when plagued with jealousy. The Haftorah relates the first court decision the wise Shlomo Hamelech rendered after assuming the mantle of leadership. It tells of two women who shared an apartment and both had given birth at the same time. Unfortunately, misfortune struck one of them and her child died in his sleep. One of the women claimed that her child was actually kidnapped by the other woman and replaced by the woman’s dead child and the other totally denied the accusation. Shlomo Hamelech immediately ordered for a sword to be brought and that the live child be divided equally amongst the two women. The true mother cried out and pleaded with the king that the child be spared and given to the other mother. But the latter calmly accepted the judgment and agreed to the slicing of the child. Shlomo immediately ruled that the woman who frantically expressed her compassion was the child’s true mother.
What is a Moderate?
November 6, 2013
Well, what is a moderate? Tell me, Snerdley, how would you, if somebody asked you to explain to ’em what a moderate is, what would you say? It’s a liberal without the guts to say so. A moderate is one of two things: a liberal that won’t admit it or somebody that waits to see which way the wind’s blowing and joins the crowd. By definition, a moderate isn’t passionate about anything. Can’t be. But now we gotta go after the moderates.

January 22, 2013Jewish Religious Colleges Get Tens of Millions in Federal Aid
By Paul Berger (Forward)
Published October 31, 2012
Each year, tens of millions of dollars in federal Pell grants go to yeshivas, many of which focus primarily on Talmud study, a Forward review of U.S. Department of Education data reveals.
The Jewish colleges take their place among many other religion-oriented schools that receive Pell grant funds. But they punch far above their weight, according to the department’s statistics. Sixty-three of the 152 religious institutions that receive Pell grants are Jewish, the data shows. And these Jewish schools collectively received 53% of the $84.5 million in Pell grant money that went to religious schools in 2010, the most recent year for which final figures are available. Of the top 10 Pell grant recipients in dollar terms that year, six were yeshivas.

NYPD and Meshichistim
December 31, 2012Dear New York City Police Department,
Why is it that when we (good law abiding citzins) get attacked/assaulted by Meshichistim (for no apparent reason), you give us a hard time.
You give us a hard time making reports and you refrain from making arrest and charging the suspects.
Yet, when the Meshichistim faction of Crown Heights make false accusations, reports, arrest, charges are done almost immediately. (Example #1: The Box case – Example #2: Shomrim Six case).
In other words: Why is the Meshichistim faction very comfortable and confident that NYPD will follow through with their complaint, while we are not so confident and are afraid of getting the run around?
“Didn’t I tell you, saying…but you did not listen?…
December 14, 201221. And they said to one another, “Indeed, we are guilty for our brother, that we witnessed the distress of his soul when he begged us, and we did not listen. That is why this trouble has come upon us.”
22. And Reuben answered them, saying, “Didn’t I tell you, saying, ‘Do not sin against the lad,’ but you did not listen? Behold, his blood, too, is being demanded!”

NY Republicans propose ‘clearly unconstitutional’ ban on anonymous online comments
May 24, 2012Source: The Daily Caller
Nearly half of the Republicans serving in the New York State Assembly have proposed legislation that would ban anonymous online comments.
If enacted, the legislation would require websites — including social networks and online newspapers — to remove all anonymous comments that are brought to the attention of administrators.
An anonymous comment could remain if the author “agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.”

Lessons From A Thief
April 26, 2012It is possible to utilize for G-d’s service, according to Torah, all behavior-traits. This includes those traits that are unwholesome, and even those that are evil, as their names and descriptions indicate. For example, the tzadik Rabbi Meshulam Zusya of Anipoli, of blessed memory, learned a number of methods of serving G-d – from a thief:
a) He works quietly without others knowing.
b) He is ready to place himself in danger.
c) The smallest detail is of great importance to him.
d) He labors with great toil.
e) Alacrity.
f) He is confident and optimistic.
g) If he did not succeed the first time, he tries again and again.
Know Your History: The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
April 15, 2012[TRS] I’ve just finished watching the History Channel’s Third Reich: The Rise and it was so good I wanted to share it with you. It documents how Hitler [YM”S] rose to power, took over Germany, killed his enemies, and demanded what amounts to hero-worship of the Führer. It also tells how he tried to perfect the German race, sterilizing out the traits he didn’t want and encouraging Arian women to have many children. This first half covers the first 5 years of Hilter’s rise, including his annex of Austria.
The 2nd part which is the Third Reich: The Fall and it should cover the next seven years and is included below. These are lengthy films but I assure you, well worth your time. I could not find the this one in one full video, but all the parts should be below.
