A group of Meshichistim from the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch – 770 organized a Meshichist cargo van Parade, spreading out across the city causing a huge Chillul Hashem and a Chillul Lubavitch.
This “Parade” was escorted by New York City Police Department.
Who arranged that NYPD should escort this small group of Meshichistim?
A source in the precinct reveals that it was Chanina Sperlin who contacted them to arrange this for the Meshichistim.
Sperlin argued that since the city provides one group, the Mitzva Tank parade (which takes place on Chanuka and Yud-Alef Nissun) with an escort, they must provide for the Meshichistim as-well. NYPD took the bait.
The only thing is Mr. Sperlin, NYPD and the City of New York, the official Mitzva Tank Parade is a joint community event, where various groups from the Crown Heights Jewish community join together. The Mitzva Tank Parade has the communities children involved, joining in the actual parade or cheering the parade on as they pull out of the neighborhood.
In other words, the Mitzva Tank Parade is a benefit to the whole community.
On the other hand, the Meshichist “parade” is aimed only for a small group of Meshichistim, who have no connection to the community at large. In fact, all those involved in the Meshichist parade are all foreigners.
Also notice that the Meshichist “parade” was not advertised in the neighborhood (they didn’t even try to get the community involved). Cargo vans and trucks were used (which can’t accommodate anybody else except those driving). The community at large did not show up. There was no one who joined nor cheered on their so called parade.
In other words, the Mershichist faction are nothing in the Crown Heights community and have absolutely no support from any of the Crown Heights communities.
Why did NYPD/the City waste hard earned tax payer dollars to basically accommodate a small group (unaffiliated with any community) in advertizing their “message”?
This is expensive. Who paid for all these vehicles and the signs attached to them?
Which tax deducible did they use when renting these vehicles? Whose going to write this off as “outreach work”?
Did the Yeshiva administration give these “bochrim” permission to do this?
