Regarding: 274 – 276 Kingston Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11206 Cross Street(s): Eastern Parkway and Lincoln Place
Organzation: Chabad Lubavitch Hospitality Center Eshel Hachnosas Orchim Inc.
Chaired by: Menachem Mendel Hendel (a.k.a. Mendy or Mendel Hendel).
Is Mendel Hendels Eshel building located at 274 – 276 Kingston Ave. a charity or business?
For $170 a night I say it’s a business and if it’s a business Hendel should stop soliciting charity money (fooling the people) for his private business.

I want to note:
1) I find it strange that Hendels organization only does “charity” outside the USA, when theres plenty of real charity to do here.
When Eshel does do some “charity” in the USA, its for foreigners tourist (who spend a huge amount of money to get here…they are not poor needy people) and not for local needy families (who if the situation were reversed would not be able to afford to send their children(s) out of the country for a month vacation).
2) During this time that Eshel does do “charity” by feeding foreigner tourist who come here for vacation, almost if not all the food prepared are donated (by good intention people who know no better and who do know better and are just writing thir donations off for their taxes). So as far as the food is concerned, it’s not costing Hendel much. The same same with the beds, housing etc… all write offs.

Major laundry machine going on here. the following is what i picked up just breezing through, I’ll have a second -better- look some other time.
RE: 2009 filings
I went through the tax return I see that there is no more detail which inst. they gave money, however, in the US there is a detail one and i see that he gave to Cong. Tiffres Moshe 9,358 it’s in Williamsburg, Clymer St. this is for the Bais din that was pasken against the Weiss Bais din from Flatbush that the community don’t have to listen to them.
Hendel gave a donation for Central Yeshiva Tomechei Tmimim $31,449 he paid them for something. the question is for what and how they record it in their books and who run this corp.
claims he gave to the poor clothing it’s probably the Kevutze (students studying in the local Yeshiva) they just added to many like students 1,300.
there are not too many details. for some reason there are no schedules attached as the first ones which is very hard to follow. hendel also became smart with the donations. most of the 45 donations he gave are less than 5K this way he does not have to detail them in the tax return.
hendel gives a lot of money every year to the gmach below you yo check who runs it it’s non-for profit:
this is on 08′ and also 09′ was around the same number
Gemilath Chesed Tmimim Leziruz Hageula
814 Eastern Pkwy
Brooklyn, NY 11213
Remember, every charity donation that he gave. That it’s not an even amount like 10K 5K, etc. He paid a bill or he paid them the bill. With the students Gmach, he is laundry money there. takes cash (or check and don’t reported in his personal return) and pay back as a donation. He does it every year.
More to come.

“to provide and supply any and all necessary vehicles,
equipment and gear to effectuate the foregoing purposes;”
Perhaps Hendel is referring to the following:

lets see hendel stuff “his guest” in his hotel, after all, he ask us to host these guest in our homes, now that he has his own place, they can all go there.

But, it’s not a real hotel.
September 16, 2012 at 9:16 am |
Exactly. It’s not legally a hotel, but the prices and conditions are the same.
Mr. Hendel is not paying taxes like he would had he been operating a legal hotel, instead he’s pretending to be an “Hachnosas Arochim” (non-for-profit) and thus avoiding paying taxes.
