where have all members gone?
for research purposes have have checked out the shmira website (which was created on wordpress.com where did they get that idea?) and something i noticed, where have all their members gone? the moisser stern claims to have a hundred members i should think that with a hundred members the pictures in their stories should be swarming with them but all i see are a whole lot of pictures with men in blue (police officers ) which leads me to suspect that the only shmira member responding to calls is the shmiras police and ambulance chaser menachem kozlovsky to take pictures and claim the story as their own.

Gentleman, there is a very big lesson that should be learned from this, the goal of Shomrim is to bring about the reduction in crime, and the way to do that is not by committing a crime yourself, because then you are no better than the criminal himself.
Shomrim in all four neighborhoods adhere to a strict moral standard with regards to how they handle perpetrators that have been caught, and this is just a tiny example of it that we are seeing thanks to this NY POST reporter being there.
In Crown Heights we unfortunately have a group of hooligans that administer their own version of vigilante justice which nearly brought a riot upon us. It’s seriously time to do away with this lawlessness.
Thank you Shomrim for showing us the moral standard you follow, time and time again. For protecting us and keeping our streets safe while working hand in hand with the police department. Thank you!

Why is every thing with sterns shmira always a secret, they have a web site, they claim to be a community patrol (ran by the community), they come out once in a while with a publication why aren’t they informing the community on whats going on?
A lot of things seem to be happening behind the scene, we the community have the right to know whats going on.
Thanks at least to this web site we get a little informed about what those gangsters are up to.

your making the mistake by thinking that they care about what you think,
it’s not about you it’s not about the safety of this community, look at their records it’s only about them (they steal and robe etc…).
they want honer, respect and money and they will do all they have to do and all they want to do to get it even if it means hurting a few people on the way. (when they do hurt some body they can always shift the blame etc…)

Let me tell you the facts. Shmira was formed in mid 1960’s in 1997 the name was changed to shomrim,in 1999 it was changed back to Shmira.
Shomrim coordinators (not the members)have been at odds with shmira ever since they were voted out in oct 1999. A vote was done and the majority of the members said they wanted new coordinators. Ever since then the shmira was run under new coordinators, under the vaad and rabbanim of the community, and supported by its residents.
Due to the escalation of fighting by the shomrim coordinators, shmira has tried many times thru many leaders to have shomrim sit and settle their grievences. It was and is the position of shomrim coordinators to not settle their issues and cause a chilul hashem to our community. That is their choice and they must take responsibilty for their action.
To everyone involved with shmira and shomrim, from dov hikind, to the heads of CH hatzalah, to the vaad, and many others it was proven that Shomrim does not want to settle their grievences, instead they prefer to fight, That’s their choice! It is clear to everyone who is not involved, but reads all the news about shmira and shomrim, that action speaks louder then words, and shmira is interested in reducing the fighting and arguments in the community, not shomrim!.
The police made an offer, let all the coordinators from both shmira and shomrim step aside, and let all the members come together to one patrol, no fights, no arguments, and to do the right thing for the community. Again, shmira stepped forward and said yes, and shomrim said no.
Life is short, and we all have a din vachshbon to answer too, there are close to 20,000 neshamos to protect, and thatis whats most important!.
I was the coordinator of shmira, for 10 great years, I am proud and humbled to have served my community, now, I pass on the mantle to others to carry on this great and vital service to a community so deserving.
I commend Inspector Simonetti, and the police commissioner for their involvement, and I thank all the CH leaders, dov hikind, and all others who I have worked with and their efforts in helping Crown Heights turn a page for the better.
May we all be zoiche to see the day when there are no more fights, and our services are no longer needed.

Obviously the reason why there were 2 groups, Shomrim and Shmira wasn’t because Crown Heights is so big or the need for a patrol so large that there were 2 patrol organizations. It was because there was a problem and people weren’t getting along so a second one was started. What the problem was is irrelevant. When you have 2 groups in the same community doing patrols especially in this situation the issues will become aggravated as well as the community loses out.
As far as their still being a Shomrim patrol and one that works directly with the NYPD I’m assuming that Shomrim will simply fold. They don’t work under the auspices of the NYPD and they are, in large part the reason that we came to this junction and that’s now clearly obvious to the NYPD. They will simply be ignored till they are gone. Its not like there weren’t practically begged by community leaders, Kelly, Vega, Simonetti and the heads of Shmira to make peace for the sake of the community. Thank G-D they didn’t because this end result is much better.

shomrim is made up of people who care and will never stop caring, trying to bring bad light to what they do, or negative feelings about how they have no interest in making people safe is wrong and stupid

it seems as though the author of this article and most of he people who’ve commented don’t really know much about the history of Shomrim or Shmira, (except for Yossi who sounds very biased).
It is not in the best interest of Shomrim to work under the police. Shmira on the other hand did some major mess up and is willing to bend any direction to make themselves look good.

If shmira really wanted peace then I believe that the problem that caused the split is very relevant.
Imagine a married couple coming for marriage counseling and when asked why they are fighting or what started the fighting, they reply:
“why we are fighting is “IRRELEVANT” Doctor.
I think the counselor might dismiss them (till their ready to face reality).
Knowing the “problem” is already half the solution.

Not every time when we say “peace” does it mean that there is a fairy tale ending. Some times for the sake of peace it is better for a married couple to brake it off. Or two “friend” to take their own path etc…
[when we say peace with the Arabs or any enemy (if that was to truly happen) nobody has in mind that once this peace does happen that we will be inviting our once enemy's to brake bread with us].

I am not involved with what is going on.
I’m sure that the camera will not reveal anything of significance.
Firstly we are assuming that it is a working camera.
Secondly we are assuming that the camera is on an endless tape otherwise it simply records over the last image.
Thirdly whatever image it did catch, it is most likely that the perp wore something that blocks his/her face such as a hood. So, I don’t think that it will be that helpful.
You can continue with your conspiracy theories if you’d like, but I for one won’t assume anything.

i’m trying to imagine the Teliban making a “peace” with America.

Speaking to some of my shomrim friends, I am told that it’s not just the “coordinators” that don’t want to join the shmira and it’s C.O.P. it’s the members as well. Nobody was or is sticking a gun to anybody head forcing them to do anything. until today they had the FREE CHOICE of joining shmira but they choice to be in shomrim and I believe that if any shomrim member would want to join this COP pogrom they can, I think it should be up to each individual to us their RIGHTS and do what they want.
Another thing:
Just because you us and abuse the word “PEACE” does not make it so, as far as i’m concerened shomrim is at “PEACE” with it self; shomrim is at “PEACE” with the community. The only ones the are not with “PEACE” are Criminals and anybody that tries to do us harm.

We all hear what stern says (he wants peace etc…)
But it’s less clear what he has done or will do to make True peace.
What he says today and what he HAS DONE (BY ACTIONS) in the past are often two different things.
He says one thing while doing something else entirely!
Stern writes a whole “beautiful” letter stating how he has reacted out etc… to make peace. meanwhile he is boosting to people that shomrim members are getting locked up, he fails to mention that he is the one behind the whole mesira.
While pretending to want to make peace he was asked by one of the “peace makers” (yingi bistisky) on whether he is going to get the charges dropped, stern replied “you think i’m just going drop the charges so fast?”
[now why yingi at that point didn't tell him to go fly a kite and that he does not really want peace in beyond me- go ask him].
It’s like the Rambam Writes:

Today 6 shomrim members were in court yet again, one shomrim member was arrested in the courthouse by 4 detectives from the 77 pricint and four court officers (thats 8 guns not including backup guns) on another vicious messira by the moisser and pussy moshe garfunkle may g-d pass judgement on him even before yom kippur.
moshe garfunkle the moisser claims that a shomrim member violated the restraining order he was served that states he cannot approach garfunkle and tried to kill him, this is the second time that garfunkle is claiming that this same shomrim member violated the restraining order and this arrest makes it the third arrest for this young shomrim member in 2008 from vicious and false messira from the moisser garfunkle who knows that the corrupt 77 pricint will lock up the shomrim member on a whim.

it’s has become a fact that the court and the police monitor this site and many other religious websites looking for incriminating material and are now looking to infringe on the rights of freedom of speech and freedom of press, it seems like our corrupt justice system can do watever it wants whenever it pleases and theres not a damb thing anybody can do about it.
